The APC Senatorial Candidate for Plateau Central Senatorial District in the 2027 general elections, Chief Hon. David Bitrus Barji, has called for greater unity, cooperation and support for the All Progressives Congress (APC), declaring that “APC is one on the Plateau.”
Barji made the declaration while attending a youth parley organised by Engr. Appolos Samchi in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The engagement, themed “Governor Mutfwang: Vision of a Prosperous Plateau Beyond 2027 — The Gains So Far,” was held at Kaka Esther Tense Hall, Choice Garden, Mangu, and attracted youths, APC supporters, political stakeholders and community members.
Speaking at the event, Barji commended the organisers for creating a platform for constructive engagement with young people, particularly on issues affecting governance, security, development and the 2027 elections.
He highlighted some of the gains recorded under Governor Caleb Mutfwang, including the ongoing expansion and rehabilitation of critical road infrastructure, renewed attention to security and peace-building, as well as interventions in education and human capital development.
The APC candidate also acknowledged interventions by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly the expansion of student support through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), increased investment in infrastructure and economic reforms aimed at strengthening the country’s productive capacity.
According to Barji, the emerging synergy between the Federal Government and Plateau State Government under President Tinubu and Governor Mutfwang, coupled with the strategic political leadership of APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, presents an opportunity to consolidate development, strengthen unity and attract greater economic activities and investment to Plateau State.
He appealed to the people, particularly youths, for their prayers and support, promising to deploy his youthful energy and experience from his years of working in the National Assembly towards youth empowerment, community development and inclusive representation.
Barji urged the people of Plateau to remain actively engaged in the development process and support the APC at all levels in the 2027 general elections.
“The APC is one on the Plateau. Our task is to unite, consolidate the gains we have made and work together for a more prosperous Plateau.”
Barji said Plateau Central deserves a representative who listens, delivers and represents the interests of all, describing his candidacy as an opportunity for tested leadership, integrity and effective representation at the Senate.
