Plateau State Governor, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has congratulated Comrade Ayuku Pwaspo and members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Plateau State Council Executive on their re-election for another three-year term.
Governor Mutfwang described the victory as a vote of confidence in the leadership of the council and recognition of its achievements during the first tenure.
In a congratulatory message, the Governor commended Pwaspo for demonstrating capacity, courage and commitment in providing inclusive and purposeful leadership to journalists in the State.
He also applauded the NUJ leadership for its efforts towards improving the welfare and professional development of journalists, while strengthening unity and solidarity within the media community.
Mutfwang charged the re-elected executives to see the fresh mandate as a greater responsibility to consolidate their achievements, deepen professional and ethical standards, and promote journalism that contributes to peace, development, accountability and good governance.
The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to continued partnership with the media, stressing that a vibrant, responsible and independent press is critical to democracy and public accountability.
He wished Pwaspo and her team wisdom, good health and renewed strength as they commence another three years of service to the journalism profession and the people of Plateau State.
