The Security Division of the Federal University of Education Pankshin (FUEP) has introduced new uniforms for its security personnel as part of efforts to improve visibility, boost morale and strengthen professionalism and responsibility in campus security operations.
The Chief Security Officer (CSO) of the University, Wing Commander Maimako Paul Yusuf (Rtd), disclosed this in a statement, explaining that the initiative is aimed at reinforcing the role of security personnel in ensuring a safe and secure learning environment for members of the university community.
According to him, the new outfits are designed to promote a stronger sense of identity and responsibility among security personnel while reassuring staff, students and visitors of their commitment to campus safety.
He said the changes would become noticeable throughout November 2026, while expressing appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Noel Nen’Nenman Ndalbeh Wannang, and the University management team for making the initiative possible.
“We are pleased to announce that over the month of November 2026, you will see campus security looking a little different as changes are being made to our outfit. We extend our deepest appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Noel Wannang, and his management team for making it possible,” he stated.
The CSO further emphasised that the security personnel exist to serve and protect the entire University community, ensuring that staff and students can concentrate on their respective responsibilities of teaching and learning without compromising their safety.
He also urged members of the university community to remain vigilant and cooperate with security personnel by promptly reporting suspicious activities.
The initiative underscores the University’s commitment to strengthening campus security and creating a safer environment for academic and administrative activities.
The message remains clear: If you see something, say something!
