The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Education, Pankshin (FUEP), Professor Noel Nen’man Ndalbeh Wannang, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for the sustainable development and growth of the institution.
Professor Wannang stated this during the official handover of a newly provided office facility to the University’s IJMB Unit and the unveiling of rehabilitated sculptures at the frontage of the University.

Commissioning the office facility, the Vice Chancellor described the IJMB Unit as an important avenue for preparing prospective students for admission into the University.
He, however, identified poor maintenance culture as one of the major challenges confronting infrastructure development in Nigeria and Africa, stressing that facilities must be properly maintained to ensure their longevity.
Receiving the keys to the facility, the Coordinator of the IJMB Programme, Dr. Patrick Panle, expressed appreciation to the Vice Chancellor for his visionary leadership and assured that the facility would be put to proper use and maintained accordingly.
Also unveiled during the occasion were rehabilitated sculptures produced by the Department of Fine and Creative Arts.
Speaking at the unveiling, Professor Wannang noted that while the sculptures contribute to the beautification and aesthetic appeal of the University environment, human and environmental factors had affected some of the existing works.
He reaffirmed that FUE Pankshin would continue to set the pace in creativity, innovation and institutional development.
The Vice Chancellor commended the Department of Fine and Creative Arts for its outstanding contributions and for supporting initiatives that promote creativity and preserve the artistic heritage of the institution.
The Head of the Department, Associate Professor Manman Jatau, said books remind people how to think, while sculptures remind people how to feel through the beauty of human expression.
She appreciated the 2026 graduating NCE students who participated in the rehabilitation initiative, describing their contribution as a demonstration of creativity, responsibility and commitment to the University.
Associate Professor Jatau also thanked the Vice Chancellor for supporting the initiative and providing an enabling environment for students and staff to translate creative ideas into tangible projects.
Speaking on behalf of the Executive Chairmen of the Central Senatorial Zone, the Chairman of Pankshin Local Government Council, Hon. Felix Amos Gonung, commended the Vice Chancellor and the Department of Fine and Creative Arts for the initiative.
