The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Education, Pankshin, Professor Noel Wannang, has expressed appreciation to various groups that paid him solidarity visits, describing his appointment as both a phase of life and a call to service.
Addressing the delegations, Professor Wannang underscored the critical role of education in societal development, urging parents and guardians to properly orientate their children on its value and ensure they are enrolled in school. He thanked the visiting groups for identifying with him and called for sustained prayers and support toward the growth of the institution.
Earlier, the team leader from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Jos, Professor Bukata B. Bukar, who also serves as Dean of the Faculty, said their visit was to congratulate the Vice Chancellor on his appointment as the pioneer head of the university. He described Professor Wannang as a man of proven competence and integrity, expressing confidence in his capacity to lead the institution to greater heights. He also prayed for divine guidance and strength for the Vice Chancellor, noting that effective leadership requires God’s direction.
Speaking on behalf of the voluntary staff of the university, the Chairman, Mr. Akaria J. Sati, appreciated the opportunity to identify with the Vice Chancellor and prayed for wisdom in steering the affairs of the institution. He appealed for inclusiveness whenever opportunities arise and pledged the group’s loyalty and support.
In a similar vein, the leader of the Duk community, Chief Morshinkka Simon Daniel, thanked God for the Vice Chancellor’s appointment and prayed for good health and success in office. He also appealed for continued support for the Duk community.
On behalf of the Plateau Forum, Acting Chairman Mr. Enoch G. Chadivwe congratulated the Vice Chancellor and assured him of the group’s backing throughout his administration.
Also speaking, the leader of the Igbo community in Pankshin, Mr. Nnamani Emeka, described the Vice Chancellor as “one of their own” and affirmed the group’s readiness to support his leadership, pledging alignment with his policies for the advancement of the university.
In a vote of thanks, the Registrar, Mr. Longtong Godwill Yadok, alongside the Vice Chancellor’s Aide, Associate Professor Habila Dekom Bako, expressed gratitude to all the visiting groups. They noted that the Vice Chancellor operates an open-door policy and remains accessible to all, while praying for safe journeys for the visitors.
The visit featured goodwill messages, prayers, and the presentation of gifts.
