The Plateau State Community and Social Development Agency (PLCSDA) has concluded the internal review and formal defense of its proposed 2027 budget as Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) across the state intensify preparations for the new fiscal year.
The exercise, conducted under the leadership and supervision of the Agency’s General Manager, Dauda Dinju, began with a comprehensive review by the Accounts Department and heads of relevant departments at the Agency’s boardroom.
The internal review was aimed at ensuring that the proposed budget meets the required standards of due diligence, accountability and strategic alignment with the Agency’s mandate.
As an agency responsible for facilitating the provision of basic social amenities to rural and underserved communities across Plateau State, PLCSDA places emphasis on responding to the identified “felt needs” of beneficiary communities through community-driven development interventions.
Following the completion of the internal review, the management team proceeded to the Plateau State Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning for the formal defense of the Agency’s 2027 budget proposal.
For three consecutive sessions, the Agency appeared before the Ministry to provide detailed explanations and justifications for its proposed programmes, projects and financial allocations.
The budget defense also provided an opportunity for PLCSDA to demonstrate how its proposed interventions would translate into tangible development outcomes for rural communities while contributing to the broader development agenda of the Plateau State Government.
At the conclusion of the exercise, the Agency received a clean bill and was charged to remain focused on the effective implementation of its programmes and projects.
The directive underscores the administration’s emphasis on ensuring that budgetary provisions translate into meaningful development outcomes, particularly in the delivery of critical infrastructure and basic social amenities to communities across the state.
For PLCSDA, the 2027 budget represents more than a financial document. It serves as a strategic instrument for translating the needs identified by communities into practical development interventions, while supporting Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s development agenda of improving infrastructure and living conditions across Plateau State.
The Agency is expected to sustain its community-driven approach as it moves into the 2027 fiscal year, with emphasis on accountability, effective implementation and measurable impact at the grassroots.
