Honoured for Outstanding Commitment to Peace, Humanity and Development
The President of the Plateau Civil Society Organizations Forum and Executive Director of the RhodaPomak Centre for Development and Empowerment, Rev. Christopher Damcher, has been honoured with a Humanitarian Service Award by the ATJODA HOPE FOUNDATION, Jos.
The award recognizes Rev. Damcher’s outstanding contributions to humanity, peacebuilding, conflict resolution and community development, particularly in Mangu Local Government Area and across Plateau State.
Speaking at the award ceremony, the Founder of the Foundation and Sarauniyar Mangu, Mrs. Josephine Dayilim, said the event was organised to empower vulnerable widows and honour individuals who have distinguished themselves through service to humanity in Mangu and beyond.
A major highlight of the event was the empowerment of 200 widows, with each beneficiary receiving a bag of rice and cash support to enable them establish or strengthen small-scale businesses.
In his humanitarian and civil society engagements, Rev. Damcher has remained a strong advocate for peace, justice, social inclusion and the protection of vulnerable communities.
His sustained efforts in promoting peaceful coexistence, community resilience and development have earned him recognition as one of the voices contributing to peace and social development in Plateau State.
The award, according to the organisers, is a recognition of his dedication and commitment to building a more peaceful, just and inclusive society.
