The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC), Dr. Cyril Yiltsen Tsenyil, has led a delegation of the Commission on a condolence visit to the Chairman of the Nasarawa State Traditional Council and Emir of Lafia, His Royal Highness, Justice Muhammad Sidi Bage I, following the death of his brother, Alhaji Ahmed Bage, Esq.
Speaking during the visit, Dr. Tsenyil said the delegation was at the palace to commiserate with the Emir, the bereaved family and the Nasarawa State Traditional Council over the loss.
He described the death of Alhaji Ahmed Bage as a great loss to the family, Nasarawa State and the North Central Development Commission, noting that the deceased was alive during the establishment and take-off of the Commission.
According to him, Alhaji Ahmed Bage was one of the voices of reason whose wise counsel and guidance were valuable to the Commission.
Dr. Tsenyil, who conveyed the condolence of the Governing Board and Management of the NCDC, prayed for the repose of the deceased’s soul and for Allah to grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
He said death was inevitable and urged the bereaved family to accept the will of the Almighty.
The NCDC Managing Director subsequently presented a formal condolence letter to the Emir on behalf of the Board and Management.
Responding, Justice Muhammad Sidi Bage I expressed appreciation to the NCDC delegation for the visit, commending the management for finding time, despite its busy schedule, to identify with the family in their moment of grief.
The Emir also commended Dr. Tsenyil, the Management and Governing Board for their efforts in laying a solid foundation for the Commission.
He described the NCDC’s mandate as a national assignment of great importance, expressing confidence that its activities would contribute significantly to changing the fortunes of people across the North Central region.
The traditional ruler called on Nigerians to continue praying for the country and its leaders, urging Allah to guide the government and grant it the wisdom and capacity to address the challenges confronting the nation.
He expressed optimism that with purposeful leadership, collective prayers and commitment, Nigeria would overcome its challenges and achieve sustainable development.
Members of the NCDC delegation included the Executive Director, Corporate Services, Mr. James Abel Uloko; the Executive Director, Commercial and Industrial Development, Hajia Aisha Rufia Ibrahim; and other staff of the Commission.
