The Plateau State House of Assembly has expressed profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for approving major federal road infrastructure projects across Plateau State, describing the interventions as a significant boost to economic growth, transportation, and regional integration.

The resolution was reached during plenary presided over by the Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Naanlong Daniel, who praised President Tinubu for prioritizing critical infrastructure in Plateau State under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Among the projects commended by the lawmakers is the construction of the Akwanga–Jos–Bauchi–Gombe–Borno Super Highway, alongside the Babban Lamba–Garram Road and the rehabilitation of the Marraba–Jamaa–Barki Ladi–Mangu–Pankshin–Kanke–Langtang–Mikang–Shendam Road. The Assembly acknowledged that the projects were facilitated through the advocacy and timely intervention of Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda.

Lawmakers noted that the strategic road projects, which also extend into parts of Taraba State, will enhance interstate connectivity, stimulate commerce, attract investments, create employment opportunities, and accelerate socio-economic development across Plateau State and neighbouring states.

Speaking during plenary, Speaker Rt. Hon. Naanlong Daniel described President Tinubu as “a listening President” whose commitment to balanced national development is evident through the approval of the projects.

“Mr. President, your Renewed Hope Agenda is visible in Plateau. By approving these critical roads, you have shown that you are a listening President, a father to all, and a leader who believes in balanced development across Nigeria. You have prioritized Plateau at a time we needed it most, and for this, the people of Plateau will not forget,” the Speaker said.

The Speaker also reaffirmed the Assembly’s support for the President, stating that Plateau people appreciate the administration’s commitment to the state’s development.

As part of its resolutions, the 10th Plateau State House of Assembly announced plans to pay appreciation visits to the Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, Governor Caleb Mutfwang, and APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda to formally convey the Assembly’s gratitude to President Tinubu for the landmark road projects.

To facilitate smooth implementation of the projects, the House also constituted an Ad-Hoc Liaison Committee headed by the Chairman of the House Committee on Works and co-chaired by the Chairman of the House Committee on Labour and Productivity.

According to the Speaker, the committee will serve as a bridge between contractors, host communities, and other stakeholders to ensure a peaceful working environment and support the timely execution of the projects.

He explained that although the road projects are Federal Government initiatives, the Assembly’s involvement is aimed at fostering cooperation, encouraging contractors, and ensuring successful completion for the benefit of Plateau people.

The House unanimously welcomed the projects, expressing confidence that the road infrastructure will strengthen regional connectivity, promote economic activities, improve mobility, and contribute significantly to the development of Plateau State, the North-East, and Nigeria as a whole.
