JOS — Plateau State Governor, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has appointed former Director-General of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Sir Joseph Ari, KSM, as Director-General of the Mutfwang/Piyo 2027 Governorship Campaign Council.
Governor Mutfwang announced the appointment on Wednesday while receiving the Metropolitan Grand Knight and members of the Order of the Knights of St. Mulumba Nigeria, Jos Metropolitan Council, who paid him a courtesy visit at the Twin Theatre, New Government House, Rayfield, Jos.
According to the Governor, the choice of Ari followed extensive consultations and consensus among critical stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State.
He said the appointment was informed by Ari’s leadership capacity, political maturity, organisational competence and ability to mobilise support across diverse constituencies.
Ari, a prominent APC chieftain and seasoned technocrat, is a distinguished public servant whose career spans strategic leadership, institutional reforms, administration and human capital development.
During his tenure as Director-General of the ITF, Ari provided leadership that strengthened the institution and enhanced its capacity to equip Nigerians with technical and vocational skills for employment, entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihoods.
His appointment is expected to bring to the Mutfwang/Piyo 2027 campaign organisation a blend of administrative experience, political understanding, grassroots reach and stakeholder-management expertise.
As Director-General, Ari will oversee the strategic coordination and mobilisation of the campaign across Plateau State’s 17 Local Government Areas, with emphasis on grassroots engagement, unity and the consolidation of the administration’s development agenda.
The appointment also signals the commitment of Governor Mutfwang and the APC leadership in the state to building a coordinated, inclusive and issue-driven campaign anchored on the administration’s achievements, the aspirations of Plateau people and a shared vision for the future of the state.
