The management of the Federal University of Education, Pankshin (FUEP), has demonstrated its commitment to compassion and institutional solidarity by paying a condolence visit to the University’s Bursar, Alhaji Amale Bello, following the death of his immediate younger brother, Mallam Ibrahim Bello.
The delegation, led by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Noel N. Wannang, travelled to Lafia, Nasarawa State, to sympathise with the bereaved family during their time of grief.
Accompanying the Vice Chancellor were the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration), Professor Judith Dawulung; the Registrar, Mr. Yadok Longtong Godwill; the University Librarian, Dr. Samson Ainoko; and the Personal Aide to the Vice Chancellor, Dr. Dekom Smart Habila-Bako.
The late Mallam Ibrahim Bello served as a staff member in the University’s Registry Department until his passing. His death has been described as a significant loss to both the institution and his family.
Speaking during the visit, Professor Wannang conveyed the University’s heartfelt condolences, noting that the visit reflected the strong bond, unity, and sense of family that define the FUEP community.
On behalf of the family, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State, Hon. Aliyu Bello, expressed gratitude to the University management for standing with the family in their moment of sorrow. He prayed for God’s continued guidance and blessings upon the University’s leadership.
In a touching moment during the visit, Professor Wannang reunited with some of his former schoolmates in Lafia—friends he had not seen since 1983. The unexpected reunion brought a nostalgic pause to an otherwise solemn occasion.
The management team also visited Amina Bello, daughter of the Bursar, who is receiving treatment after being involved in the same accident.
The condolence visit reflects the Federal University of Education, Pankshin’s culture of empathy and shared humanity, reinforcing the belief that beyond professional responsibilities, members of the University community remain one family.
