PANKSHIN — The Federal University of Education, Pankshin (FUEP), has inaugurated newly elected Students’ Union Government (SUG) executives for the B.Ed Part-Time 2027 Contact programme, with a charge on them to demonstrate responsible leadership and prioritise their academic pursuits.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Noel Nen’man Ndalbeh Wannang, gave the charge through the University Librarian, Dr. Samson Ainoko, who represented him at the inauguration ceremony.
Prof. Wannang congratulated the outgoing executives on the successful completion of their tenure and wished the incoming leadership a successful administration.
In his welcome address, the Dean of the Directorate of Students Affairs, Prof. Danjuma Katkukka Gokum, advised the newly elected executives not to allow their leadership responsibilities to overshadow their primary duty as students.
He congratulated both the outgoing and incoming executives, urging the new leaders to strike a balance between their academic commitments and responsibilities to the student community.
Administering the oath of office, Barr. Nanribet Fotshak, the Oath Commissioner, reminded the newly elected officials that oath-taking was a serious commitment that must be upheld with integrity and a strong sense of responsibility.
The outgoing SUG President, Comrade Nathan Jerry Nanmet, expressed mixed feelings as his tenure came to an end, reflecting on the achievements recorded by his administration despite the challenges encountered.
He appreciated the University management and students for providing the platform to serve, while expressing gratitude for the support received throughout his tenure.
During the ceremony, Nanmet presented Certificates of Service to the outgoing executives and Certificates of Return to the newly elected officials.
He urged his successors to place students’ interests first and maintain a constructive working relationship with the University management to address issues affecting the student community.
The newly elected SUG President, Comrade Dawam Innocent Naanswan, expressed appreciation to the University management and students for the confidence reposed in him and his team.
He pledged that his administration would engage constructively with the University management on matters affecting students, emphasising that the administration’s slogan, “Unity and Teamwork,” was a commitment to action rather than mere words.
Also speaking, the Manager of Part-Time Programmes, Dr. Din Sarki, congratulated the outgoing executives, describing the inauguration as a notable milestone of their tenure.
He expressed optimism about working with the new leadership and assured them of his readiness to collaborate with the incoming executives.
The Registrar of FUEP, Mr. Longtong Yadok Godwill, represented by the Students Affairs Officer, Mr. Likita Edward, delivered the vote of thanks, congratulating both the outgoing and incoming executives and wishing them success.
