Chief Hon. David Barji on Thursday joined other distinguished leaders and residents of Plateau State at the official flag-off ceremony of the Phase II of the Sharam–Langshi–Garram–Babban Lamba Federal Road in Kanke Local Government Area.
Speaking during the event, Chief Barji described the project as a significant milestone for the people of Plateau Central, noting that the road would boost economic activities, improve connectivity, and enhance the quality of life of communities along the corridor.
He expressed profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda through the delivery of critical infrastructure projects across the country.
Chief Barji also commended Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda for his steadfast leadership and unwavering dedication to the development of Plateau State. He further appreciated the Minister of Works, Engr. Dave Umahi, for ensuring the successful commencement of the strategic federal road project.
The former federal lawmaker equally lauded the Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, for his continued support and collaboration in advancing sustainable development and infrastructure in the state.
Addressing the mammoth crowd that gathered for the ceremony, Chief Barji called on the youths to remain united, peaceful, and committed to the collective progress of Plateau Central.
According to him, greater opportunities, accelerated development, and a brighter future await the people under purposeful and people-oriented leadership.
He noted that the commencement of the road project is a demonstration of government’s commitment to bringing development closer to the people and addressing critical infrastructure deficits in rural communities.
The Sharam–Langshi–Garram–Babban Lamba Federal Road is expected to enhance transportation, facilitate trade and agricultural activities, and open up more economic opportunities for communities in Kanke and adjoining areas.
“Hope has come,” Chief Barji declared as he urged residents to continue supporting initiatives aimed at promoting peace, unity, and development in Plateau Central.
