As Nigerians commemorate Democracy Day on June 12, 2026, the APC Senatorial Aspirant for Plateau Central, Hon. David Barji, has joined millions of citizens across the country in celebrating the nation’s democratic journey and the enduring values of freedom, justice, unity, and good governance.

Hon. Barji noted that Democracy Day remains a significant reminder of the sacrifices made by patriotic Nigerians who fought tirelessly to ensure that democratic rule prevails in the country. He described June 12 as a symbol of the resilience of the Nigerian people and their unwavering commitment to building a nation founded on the principles of participation, accountability, and the rule of law.

The APC stalwart congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his leadership and commitment to strengthening democratic institutions, advancing economic reforms, and fostering national development. According to him, the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda continues to provide a framework for sustainable growth and national transformation.

He also extended warm congratulations to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, describing his emergence as a source of pride to Plateau State and a testament to the confidence reposed in his leadership capacity. Hon. Barji expressed optimism that under Professor Yilwatda’s stewardship, the APC would continue to grow stronger and provide effective leadership for the nation.

Hon. Barji further commended the Governor of Plateau State, Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, for his efforts in promoting peace, unity, security, and development across the state. He noted that the Governor’s commitment to restoring public confidence and improving the welfare of citizens has contributed significantly to the progress being witnessed in Plateau State.

While appreciating the good people of Plateau Central, Hon. Barji thanked them for their resilience, support, and unwavering faith in a brighter future. He urged citizens to remain united and committed to democratic ideals, emphasizing that meaningful development can only be achieved through peaceful coexistence, active civic participation, and collective responsibility.

“As we celebrate Democracy Day 2026, let us renew our commitment to building a society where justice, equity, peace, and opportunity thrive for all. Together, we can build a stronger Plateau Central, a more prosperous Plateau State, and a greater Nigeria,” he stated.

He wished all Nigerians a peaceful and memorable Democracy Day celebration.
