The Chief Executive Officer of the Institute of Human Virology Nigeria (IHVN), Dr. Patrick Dakum, has reaffirmed his commitment to supporting efforts aimed at restoring hope and rebuilding communities affected by insecurity in Plateau State.
Dr. Dakum made the commitment when he received the leadership of the Plateau State Indigenous Development Association (PIDAN), Abuja Chapter, on a courtesy and condolence visit to his office in Abuja.
The meeting focused on the humanitarian and developmental challenges confronting communities displaced by insecurity across the state, as well as possible interventions to support recovery, restore livelihoods and facilitate the return of displaced families.

During the engagement, PIDAN presented its R64 Initiative, an intervention designed to rehabilitate 64 affected communities, restore livelihoods and support the safe and sustainable return of families displaced by insecurity.
The initiative reflects growing efforts by Plateau indigenes and stakeholders to contribute to the rebuilding of affected communities and create pathways towards recovery and resilience.
Dr. Dakum expressed his support for the initiative, assuring the PIDAN delegation that he would continue to stand with affected communities in Plateau State in their journey towards recovery, resilience and peace.
He emphasised the importance of collective action and sustained support in addressing the humanitarian consequences of insecurity and rebuilding communities whose social and economic activities have been disrupted.
The engagement highlights the need for stronger collaboration among government, community organisations, development partners and well-meaning individuals to support displaced families and accelerate the recovery of affected communities.
