The Federal University of Education Pankshin has recorded another breakthrough in its ongoing efforts to strengthen campus security and protect university property.
In the early hours of Friday, 17th July, 2026, the University’s vigilant security personnel apprehended a suspect identified as Nanle Yakus, popularly known as “Tools,” for allegedly stealing iron cast and other heavy metal materials belonging to the institution.
Preliminary findings indicate that the suspect, who hails from Mangu Local Government Area, claimed to be a student of a tertiary institution. He was reportedly residing within the University’s Staff Quarters at the time of his arrest.
The suspect has been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force for further investigation and possible prosecution.
Reacting to the development, the Chief Security Officer of the University, Wing Commander Paul Maimako Yusuf (Rtd.), commended the vigilance and professionalism of the University’s security personnel. He also urged staff, students, and residents to remain alert and promptly report any suspicious activities as the institution intensifies efforts to rid the campus of criminal elements.
