The APC Candidate for the Plateau Central Senatorial District, Chief Hon. David Barji, on Sunday, August 2, 2026, worshipped at his home church, COCIN LCC Yimtul, RCC Pankshin, where he ministered as the Guest Preacher during the 2026 COCIN Youth Fellowship Week celebration.
Speaking on the theme, “Standing Firm in a Wild World,” and drawing his message from 2 Peter 3:18, Chief Barji challenged Christian youths to remain steadfast in their faith despite the moral and spiritual pressures of today’s society. He stressed that spiritual growth, unwavering faith, and complete dependence on God remain the keys to victorious Christian living.
Using the illustration of life’s three seasons—morning, afternoon, and evening—he urged the congregation, particularly the youths, to reflect on the stage of life they currently occupy. According to him, the decisions made during the “morning season” largely determine the future, but God’s grace offers hope and restoration to anyone willing to make a fresh beginning and finish well.
Chief Barji further encouraged the youths to draw inspiration from the life of Jesus Christ, noting that although Jesus spent only 33 years on earth, His impact has endured for more than two millennia.
He challenged the young people not to waste the opportunities before them but to live intentionally, pursue excellence, and become worthy ambassadors of Christ whose lives will leave lasting legacies for future generations.
The senatorial candidate expressed gratitude to the leadership of COCIN LCC Yimtul for the privilege of sharing God’s Word during the annual youth celebration.
The high point of the service was the presentation of an Award of Excellence to Chief Hon. David Barji by the COCIN Youth Fellowship, LCC Yimtul, RCC Pankshin, in recognition of his exemplary leadership, unwavering support, dedication, and selfless service to the Church and its youth ministry.
Receiving the honour, Chief Barji dedicated the award to the elderly members of the church, acknowledging their prayers, sacrifices, and years of faithful service in building a strong spiritual foundation for the younger generation and the continued growth of the Church.
Demonstrating his continued commitment to advancing God’s work, he also made a generous donation towards the success of the Youth Fellowship Week celebration and prayed for God to raise the youths as faithful disciples, godly leaders, and instruments of revival.
The COCIN Youth Fellowship Week is an annual spiritual programme observed across COCIN congregations worldwide to deepen the faith of young believers and equip them to stand boldly for Christ in every generation.
As the 2026 celebration continues, Chief Barji extended warm greetings to Christian youths, praying that they would continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ and become shining lights in an ever-changing world.
