Popular social media couple, Desmond and Kristy Scott, have officially called it quits, with Desmond breaking his silence on Sunday to admit he made “choices” he regretted during their marriage.
The divorce, which sent shockwaves across social media platforms where the couple had built a massive following, came after Kristy reportedly filed to end their union in early 2026.
In a lengthy statement posted via Desmond’s Instagram story on Sunday, the celebrity chef took full responsibility for the collapse of the marriage, revealing that he had initiated separation talks towards the end of 2025.
“Toward the end of 2025, I wanted to separate, and I had conversations with Kristy regarding this. During this period, I made choices that I am not proud of,” the celebrity chef admitted in the statement.
Though he did not specify what the “choices” were, Desmond confirmed he had personally informed Kristy about his actions before they mutually agreed to proceed with the divorce.
The statement read in part, “I took responsibility for those actions, I shared this with her directly and personally, and ultimately we decided to divorce.”
The father of two boys apologised to his estranged wife, their family, and followers who had admired their relationship over the years.
“I want to begin by apologising to Kristy, our family, and everyone who has been impacted by the public attention surrounding this situation. I know this news has been disappointing for many, and I’m truly sorry for the hurt it has caused,” Desmond stated.
He stressed that despite the marital breakdown, Kristy would always remain important to him as the mother of his children.
“Kristy is the mother of my children, and that will always come first. I remain fully committed to being an active, present, and loving parent to our boys, as I have always been,” he said.
Desmond revealed that the couple had tried to salvage their marriage before the final decision to divorce.
“Kristy and I faced challenges and made sincere efforts to work through them,” he noted.
He appealed for privacy and understanding from the public as they navigate the difficult period.
“I ask for privacy and compassion as we navigate this difficult chapter of our lives,” the statement added.
The social media star, known for sharing cooking content online, thanked supporters and vowed to continue his work despite the personal setback.
“Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years. I’m grateful for that support and will continue sharing my love for cooking and the things that inspire me. I hope you’ll continue that journey with me.”
