Jos, Plateau State — The Trust Campaign Council 2.0 has solicited the support of the Plateau Radio Television Corporation (PRTVC) for the re-election bid of the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Plateau State Council, Comrade Ayuku Pwaspo.
The campaign council, led by its Chairperson, Lucy Chindaba, made the appeal during a courtesy visit to the management of PRTVC in Jos.
Chindapa highlighted what she described as key achievements of the Pwaspo-led NUJ administration, particularly in the areas of journalists’ welfare, professional unity and improved relationships among sister media organisations.
She also pointed to initiatives aimed at encouraging female participation and leadership within the union, noting that such programmes had contributed to strengthening inclusiveness in the NUJ.
According to her, the administration’s Christmas and Ramadan initiatives have also provided platforms for promoting peace, unity, goodwill and stronger professional relationships among journalists and media stakeholders.
Responding on behalf of the General Manager of PRTVC, Hudung Gyang, the Director of Programmes welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed the corporation’s support for the NUJ.
She acknowledged the initiatives and progress recorded under the leadership of Comrade Pwaspo, while encouraging the union to sustain its achievements and continue to do more for the welfare and professional development of journalists.
The visit featured the signing of the visitors’ register, presentations and a group photograph.
