The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), designating the government-owned broadcaster as the official host radio broadcaster for the 2026 World Public Relations Forum (WPRF).

The global event is scheduled to hold from November 15 to 21, 2026, in Abuja, Nigeria, and is expected to attract about 3,000 high-profile participants from 126 countries.

Speaking during the signing ceremony at Radio House in Abuja on Friday, the Director-General of FRCN, Dr. Mohammed Bulama, reaffirmed the Corporation’s commitment to working with NIPR to ensure the success of the international gathering.

Dr. Bulama described WPRF as a significant opportunity for Nigeria to present its identity, values and achievements to a global audience, noting that strengthening the country’s reputation aligns with FRCN’s mandate as Nigeria’s foremost public broadcaster.

He assured the organisers that FRCN would deploy its available resources to ensure that the impact of the forum is felt before, during and after the event.

“We want to assure you that we will deploy all the resources available to us to make sure that the event is a resounding success. Hosting over 120 countries is not a small feat. Abuja will become the centre of global attention. We are ready to contribute our own quota to ensure that Nigeria leaves a lasting footprint in the minds of our guests,” he stated.

Earlier, the Chairman of the WPRF National Planning Committee (NPC), Dr. Suleiman Haruna, who spoke on behalf of NIPR, said FRCN’s extensive national reach would play a crucial role in creating awareness about the forum and highlighting its reputational value to Nigeria.

Haruna said the programme had been deliberately designed to provide value across different sectors and demographics, urging individuals and organisations yet to register to take advantage of the opportunity to participate in the global forum.

He said participants would join thousands of leading professionals and personalities expected at the event.

The MoA signing was witnessed by the Registrar of NIPR, Chief Uzoma Onyegbadue; Team Lead, Communication and Media Relations Work Team of WPRF, Dr. Muhammad Kudu Abubakar; Chairman, NIPR FCT Chapter and Director, Public Relations, NIPR, Mr. Stanley Ogadigo; Team Lead, Creatives and Multimedia Work Team of WPRF, Dr. Tope Ojeme; Assistant Secretary, National Planning Committee, WPRF, Ms. Kelechi Okeagu; and Miss Alexandria Eke of the NIPR National Secretariat.

The partnership is expected to strengthen nationwide public awareness and media coverage of WPRF 2026 while positioning Nigeria at the centre of global conversations on public relations, reputation management and strategic communication.
