Widows in Jiblik of Pankshin Local Government Area of Plateau State have received interventions that are associated with the festive season.

Wife of a former Gubernatorial candidate in the State and Chief Executive Officer Institute of Human Virology Nigeria IHVN, Sarah Dakum, reached out to widows with assorted packages to enable them celebrate Christmas and New Year in good mood.

From the usual 200, the intervention has now scaled up to over 217 widows with a promise to provide other life changing services to better the lives of the widows through Daniel Dakum Foundation. The president of the Daniel Dakum Foundation, Mrs. Sarah Dakum emphasised that the primary driving force behind the initiative is a strong belief that, according to scripture, there is a responsibility to care for the less privileged.

She stressed that during Christmas, it is especially fulfilling to engage with widows who have faced loss and have little support.

Contributing, Dr Patrick Dakum, explained that the annual palliative gesture which the family has been sponsoring for about two decades was purely to put smiles on the faces of these less privileged widows, orphans and others in the society, particularly Jiblik and neighbouring communities.
