The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Education, Pankshin (FUE Pankshin), Professor Noel Nen’man Ndalbeh Wannang, has commended the management and academic community of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) on the successful hosting of its 8th combined convocation ceremony and 25th anniversary celebration.
Professor Wannang, who attended the event, congratulated the Vice Chancellor of NSUK, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, as well as the institution’s Council, Senate, staff, and students for what he described as a milestone achievement in the university’s history.
In a goodwill message, the FUE Pankshin Vice Chancellor particularly praised graduating students for their academic accomplishments, with special recognition given to members of his institution’s academic staff who were among the graduands.
He noted that the achievement of lecturers earning higher degrees reflects a strong commitment to lifelong learning and professional growth, describing it as a commendable example within Nigeria’s academic environment.
According to him, celebrating academic staff who advance their education sends a powerful message about the importance of continuous learning in the teaching profession and strengthens collaboration and mutual respect among universities.
He further described such recognition as a subtle but impactful step toward transforming Nigeria’s higher education landscape.
At the ceremony, NSUK awarded degrees to a total of 32,884 graduands across three academic sessions — 2022/2023, 2023/2024, and 2024/2025. The figure includes 1,677 Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees, 8,169 Master’s degrees, 2,809 Postgraduate Diplomas, and 20,229 first degrees, alongside honorary degrees (honoris causa).
A total of 82 students graduated with First Class Honours across various faculties.
The convocation ceremony also featured speeches from the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule, and the Vice Chancellor of NSUK, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, among other dignitaries.
