Osun Command of the Amotekun Corps, on Monday, dismissed reports that its personnel dehumanised and chased out a monarch, Eleko of Eko-Ajala for the palace.

This was contained in a statement by the spokesperson for Amotekun Corps in Osun, Idowu Yusuf, in reaction to a report that said the corps were involved in the attack on the said monarch.

The statement said the report was an orchestrated campaign of calumny aimed at damaging the reputation of the corps and bringing it into public contempt.

It further read, “In the publication. It was alleged that Osun Amotekun Corps and its personnel, dehumanised and chased the deposed traditional ruler of Eko-Ajala out of the palace.

“We wish to inform the general public that Osun Amotekun Corps and its personnel were not involved in the act and the news published on (a national daily) and other social media platforms is fake and far from the truth.

“We would like to inform the general public that the publication is part of an orchestrated campaign of calumny aimed at damaging Osun Amotekun’s reputation and bringing it into public contempt.

“The publication is to dent unbiased activities of Osun Amotekun corps.

Osun Amotekun Corps is an establishment of the law which no party can lay claim to, as it belongs to the entire citizen of the state, we are nonpartisan.”
