The Plateau State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) on Wednesday, September 16, paid a courtesy visit to the Director General of the Mutfwang/Josephine/Tinubu Campaign Councils, Sir Joseph Ari, FNIPR, at his residence in Rantya, Jos.
The delegation, led by the chapter’s Vice Chairman, Mr. Sonny Dung, MNIPR, comprised Council Member, Prof. Sarah Lwahas, members of the executive committee and other distinguished public relations practitioners.
Speaking during the visit, Dung expressed the chapter’s solidarity with Ari following his recent appointment, describing him as a mentor and consummate professional whose contributions have advanced the growth of the NIPR at both state and national levels.
He recalled Ari’s impactful tenure as Director General/Chief Executive Officer of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), as well as his service as a member of the NIPR Governing Council, noting that his commitment to institutional development remains exemplary.
Dung also formally invited Ari to attend the Joseph D. Gomwalk Leadership Lecture Series scheduled for Thursday, September 17, at the Eliel Event Centre, Jos.
Responding, Ari warmly welcomed the NIPR delegation and assured them that the campaign council would be anchored on the principles of integrity, transparency and effective reputation management.
He stressed that the Mutfwang/Josephine campaign would be issue-driven rather than personality-focused, in keeping with the core values and professional ethics of public relations.
Ari further acknowledged the important role of the NIPR in shaping and executing effective communication strategies, pledging to work closely with the institute in developing concepts capable of strengthening public trust and enhancing effective engagement with the public.
He expressed appreciation to the Plateau NIPR Chapter for its goodwill and confirmed his attendance at the Joseph D. Gomwalk Leadership Lecture.
Earlier, Prof. Sarah Lwahas conveyed the felicitations of the NIPR Governing Council to Ari, describing his appointment as well-deserved and a reflection of his professional accomplishments and contributions to public service.
She wished him success in his new responsibility and reaffirmed the institute’s readiness to provide professional support where necessary.
