Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Pankshin Local Government Area of Plateau State have paid a congratulatory visit to the Director-General of the Mutfwang/Piyo 2027 Campaign Council, Sir Joseph Ari, KSM, in Jos.
The delegation, led by the Executive Chairman of Pankshin Local Government Council, Hon. Amos Felix Gonung, comprised Senator Diket Plang, Plateau State Commissioner for Works, Hon. Cletus Shurkuk, former Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Goar, elder statesman Chief Maichibi Vwarji, as well as APC state, zonal and local government executives, former council chairmen, political appointees and party flagbearers.
Speaking during the visit, Gonung described Ari’s appointment as well deserved, citing his administrative experience and record of delivering results.
He said the people of Pankshin viewed the appointment as recognition of Ari’s accomplishments and personality, adding that the local government was prepared to mobilise support for the political project.
“We see this appointment as recognition of your accomplishments and your personality. With you in charge, we see victory for the party. For us in Pankshin, the mission is simple. We will harvest votes,” Gonung said.
Also speaking, Senator Diket Plang described Ari as a grounded administrator and communicator. He commended the choice of Ari to lead the campaign council and said Pankshin would bring its strength to the campaign.
Responding, Sir Joseph Ari thanked the delegation for the visit, saying he did not take the show of solidarity for granted.
Ari said the series of visits by stakeholders had provided an opportunity for him to reconnect with old friends and associates from the 1998/99 political family.
He stressed that the campaign under his leadership would focus on issues rather than personal attacks, promising a campaign devoid of acrimony, calumny and blackmail.
“Our campaign will be devoid of acrimony, calumny and blackmail. Where government has done well, we will blow the trumpet. Where we need to appeal to the conscience of Plateau people, we will do it with diligence. This is a Plateau project,” Ari stated.
He subsequently called on party stakeholders to put aside their differences, close ranks and work together towards the campaign’s stated objective of delivering what he described as a “5/5” outcome.
The visit comes amid a series of stakeholder engagements and solidarity visits following Ari’s appointment as Director-General of the Mutfwang/Piyo 2027 Campaign Council.
