The Chief Executive Officer of the Institute of Human Virology Nigeria (IHVN), Professor Patrick Sunday Dakum, has commiserated with former Plateau State Governor and former Senator representing Plateau Central, Senator Joshua Dariye, his wife, Valentina, their son, Nanle Dariye and wife, siblings and the entire Dariye family over the death of their granddaughter, daughter, niece and cousin, Nanpeh Chimamanda Nanle Dariye.
Nanpeh passed away on Friday, August 14, 2026, following a brief illness.
In a condolence message, Prof. Dakum described her death as painful and a great loss to the family, noting that Nanpeh exhibited intelligence, hard work, progressiveness and a cheerful disposition that brought love and joy to those around her.
He urged the Dariye family to accept the loss as an act of God, who gives and takes life, while drawing comfort from the cherished moments they shared with Nanpeh during her lifetime.
Prof. Dakum further encouraged the family to take solace in the Almighty God, who, he said, has promised never to abandon His people in times of difficulty.
The former Plateau State Commissioner for Information and Health prayed God to comfort the entire Dariye family and grant them the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
He also prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of the deceased.
Nanpeh Chimamanda Dariye was the first child of Nanle Dariye, the first son of former Governor Joshua Dariye, making her his first grandchild.
