JOS — APC Senatorial Candidate for Plateau Central in 2027, Chief Hon. David Barji, has congratulated the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, on his recognition as the Blueprint 2025 Person of the Year.
Barji described the recognition as a fitting acknowledgement of Prof. Yilwatda’s leadership, which he said has been marked by intellect, humility, reform and commitment to public service.
In a congratulatory statement, Barji described the APC chairman as “a reformer and a performer,” combining the discipline of a technocrat, the vision of a scholar and the courage of a political leader.
He said since assuming office as APC National Chairman in July 2025, Prof. Yilwatda has brought renewed organisation, unity and purpose to the party, with emphasis on strengthening internal structures, reconciliation, internal democracy and preparations for future elections.
Barji also commended the push for technology-driven membership registration and electronic systems, describing the initiative as part of efforts to improve the credibility of the party’s membership database and strengthen communication with members.
He noted that Prof. Yilwatda’s re-election as National Chairman at the APC National Convention in March 2026 further demonstrated the confidence placed in his leadership.
According to Barji, Prof. Yilwatda’s record extends beyond party politics, having served as an engineer, academic, electoral administrator and public servant.
He said these experiences have equipped the APC chairman with a broad understanding of technology, governance, institutions and public administration.
“His journey reminds us that competence, character, intellectual capacity and service can take our sons and daughters to the highest levels of national leadership,” Barji said.
Barji described the Blueprint recognition as not merely an award but an acknowledgement of a journey of service and an encouragement for Prof. Yilwatda to remain steadfast in his commitment to leadership and national development.
He further expressed pride in Prof. Yilwatda as a Plateau son who has risen to one of the most influential political positions in the country.
On behalf of the Barji Face of Hope Movement for Senator Plateau Central 2027, his family and well-wishers, Barji extended his warmest congratulations to Prof. Yilwatda and prayed for continued wisdom, strength and good health in his service to the APC and Nigeria.
