The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Education Pankshin (FUEP), Professor Noel Wannang, alongside the management and entire university community, has paid glowing tributes to the institution’s former Bursar, late Mr. Chrysanthus Dawam, during a requiem Mass held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Doemak, in Qua’an-Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Professor Wannang described the late Dawam as a dedicated public servant, seasoned accountant, community leader and committed staff member whose immense contributions to the university’s Bursary Department will remain indelible.

Represented at the service by the Senior Deputy Bursar, Mr. Dambring Fer, the Vice-Chancellor expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved family, the people of Qua’an-Pan Local Government Area and the Plateau State Government over the painful loss.

According to him, the deceased lived a life marked by diligence, integrity and progressive leadership in financial management within Nigeria’s educational sector and public service.

Delivering the homily, Rev. Fr. Timothy Senkoem reminded the congregation that there is life after death and expressed confidence that the late Chrysanthus Dawam lived a worthy Christian life and would receive eternal reward in heaven.

Citing John 11:25, he encouraged the faithful to remain steadfast in God, saying: “I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, though he dies, yet shall he live.”

The officiating priest, Rev. Fr. Justin Podos, thanked God for the life and service of the late Dawam and prayed for the repose of his soul and those of all the faithful departed.

Speaking on behalf of the Dawam family, Hon. Lugutnaan Justice Daniang expressed profound appreciation to all who stood by the family through prayers, support and acts of kindness during their time of grief.

The solemn ceremony attracted dignitaries from various walks of life, including council members, former acting vice-chancellors, union leaders and staff of the Federal University of Education Pankshin.

Following the requiem Mass, the remains of the late Mr. Chrysanthus Dawam were laid to rest at his residence in Kopkulu, Doemak, Qua’an-Pan Local Government Area.

Late Mr. Chrysanthus Dawam joined the then Federal College of Education Pankshin in 1995 and devoted the greater part of his career to the institution. Rising through the ranks, he served as Bursar from 2007 to 2017.

He later served as Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning under the administration of Plateau State Governor, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, from 2023 to 2025.

The late administrator is remembered for his outstanding service, professionalism and commitment to the growth of education and public administration in Plateau State.

May his gentle soul rest in peace. Amen.
