The Director-General of the Mutfwang/Piyo 2027 Campaign Council, Sir Joseph Ntung Ari, KSM, has paid a strategic courtesy visit to former Governor of Plateau State and Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District, Senator Simon Bako Lalong, seeking his blessing, guidance and support ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The visit, according to Ari, was part of efforts to strengthen political unity, consolidate support and build a formidable campaign structure capable of delivering victory for the party across Plateau State.
Speaking during the visit, Sir Joseph Ari expressed appreciation to Senator Lalong for his consistent support and the long-standing relationship between them.
He said his visit was specifically to seek the former governor’s fatherly guidance and political support as he assumes the responsibility of leading the Mutfwang/Piyo 2027 Campaign Council.
Ari reaffirmed that the mandate of the Campaign Council is to ensure the re-election of all serving candidates of the party and secure victory for other candidates contesting under its platform in the 2027 elections.
He described the objective as achieving “total victory” across the state.
Responding, Senator Lalong thanked Ari for the honour and respect accorded him, describing his appointment as Director-General of the campaign council as timely, strategic and a bold decision by Governor Caleb Mutfwang.
He said the appointment was a source of pride to the people of Plateau State, the Gamai Nation and the Catholic Church.
Lalong also disclosed that he had been appointed to the Tinubu/Shettima 2027 Presidential Campaign Council at the national level, noting that the experience would enable him to provide strategic guidance to the state campaign.
The former governor stressed that the responsibility of projecting Plateau State positively at the national level would require effective coordination and strategic leadership by the campaign council.
He therefore pledged his “unflinching support” to Sir Joseph Ari and assured him that his doors would remain open for consultations and guidance whenever necessary.
Senator Lalong further promised to make available his campaign handouts and share relevant experiences from his tenure as Director-General of the last presidential campaign to help strengthen the Mutfwang/Piyo campaign structure.
The meeting ended with both leaders reaffirming their commitment to political unity, strategic mobilisation and electoral victory for the party in Plateau State in the 2027 elections.
