The leadership of the Wokkos District Development Association (WODDA), Pankshin Local Government Area of Plateau State, alongside traditional rulers and other critical stakeholders, has paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner for Works, Dr. Cletus Shurkuk, to congratulate him on his new assignment.
The high-powered delegation was led by the National Chairman of WODDA, Nde Kassem Morgak Bulus (ASP), and included the Ngolong Wokkos, Nde Lawrence Gowal; Ngolong Berit, Nde Sunday Golbe; Rt. Hon. Kudangbena Dewan; Member representing Pankshin North in the Plateau State House of Assembly, Prof. Danjuma Katkuk’a Gokum; National President of the NDA, Nde Emmanuel Jurte; Nde Nuhu Shikdimma; Nde Garba Gonkol; Rev. Danjuma Pikatda; Nde Goshang Gonkol; Hon. Joel Dewan; Hon. Nenfot Shiwe; Hon. Sunday Gochin Kebang; Nde Emmanuel Golpup; and Nde Iliya Nenmene.
Also on the delegation were members of the WODDA National Executive Committee, including the Vice President I, Nde Bala Gonkol; General Secretary, Hon. Danlami Gokum; Treasurer, Matwok Alheri Bunshak; and Publicity Secretary, Chintif Shwargak.
Speaking during the visit, Nde Morgak described Dr. Shurkuk’s redeployment to the Ministry of Works as an answer to the prayers of the Wokkos people, particularly at a time when the Wokkos road project is ongoing under the supervision of the ministry.
He commended Governor Caleb Mutfwang for approving the construction of the road and appealed for additional funding to facilitate the timely completion of the project.
Also speaking, Rt. Hon. Dewan, Prof. Gokum and Nde Jurte expressed confidence in the Commissioner’s capacity and track record, saying his antecedents had strengthened their conviction that the road project would be completed.
The Ngolong Wokkos, Nde Lawrence Gowal, also appreciated the Commissioner for his commitment, expressing confidence that the long-standing concern over the Wokkos road had become a “bye-gone” issue.
Responding, Dr. Shurkuk expressed delight over the visit and assured the delegation of his commitment to executing the project to completion, in line with the administration’s development agenda.
