Manchester United are still looking to sign a prolific number 9 after wasting cash on the likes of Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund in the last two transfer windows.
If reports in the media are anything to go by then now, Man Utd want to sign Luis Suarez, who is also wanted by Liverpool and other European clubs.
The player in discussion is not the Uruguayan Luis Suarez, who played at Anfield and tormented the Premier League. He is on the brink of retirement and currently plays for Inter Miami.
Instead, the striker in question is Colombian international, who was in top form Almeria in the last campaign.
As per today’s version of A Bola (news image provided below), Man Utd, Juventus, Liverpool, Atletico Madrid, Sporting and Sunderland are interested in luring Luis Suarez.
However, for now apart from the Portuguese champions, none of the clubs have formally approached the La Liga 2 side to sign the goal-scorer.
His current contract with Almeria will expire in 2029 and the Andalusian side continue to ask for a fee of 25 million euros i.e. around £21.6million.
The price is considered too high by Sporting, who are looking to lure a striker to replace Viktor Gyokeres.
In the last campaign, the South American star featured in 43 games for the Spanish side and directly contributed in 39 goals (31 goals and 9 assists). He scored a hat-trick against La Liga side, Sevilla, in the Copa Del Rey.
Suarez could not help Almeria earn a place in the top flight of Spain, but he has already featured 100 times in the La Liga and contributed in 33 goals.
