Nollywood actress Queeneth Hilbert has taken legal action against her colleague, Destiny Etiko, and the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, over an alleged attempt to detain her.
The dispute began after Hilbert accused Etiko of snatching her wealthy boyfriend, leading to a heated social media exchange. Following these allegations, Etiko, through her lawyers, demanded a public retraction and filed a ₦100 million defamation suit against Hilbert.
In response, Hilbert approached the Federal High Court in Lagos, claiming the police, at Etiko’s instigation, attempted an unlawful arrest, violating her fundamental rights. She is seeking legal protection against detention and ₦100 million in damages for the alleged invasion of her privacy.
