Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, popularly known as Beyoncé, made history at the 2025 Grammy Awards again, securing 11 nominations and winning two awards, bringing her career total to an unprecedented 34 Grammys.

In a groundbreaking achievement, she became the first Black woman to win the Best Country Album award for Cowboy Carter.

The award was presented by Taylor Swift, marking a milestone moment for both Beyoncé and the country music genre.

Already holding the title of the most-awarded Grammy artist of all time (a distinction she earned in 2023 with Renaissance), she extended that record on Sunday.

With two more wins at the 2025 ceremony, her total Grammy count has risen to 34.

Taking the stage in disbelief, Beyoncé said, “Wow, I really was not expecting this. Wow, I wanna thank God — Oh my God! — that I’m able to still do what I love after so many years Oh my God!”

She added, “I’d like to thank all of the incredible country artists that accepted this album. We worked so hard on it. I think sometimes genre is a code word to keep us in our place as artists, and I just want to encourage people to do what they’re passionate about, and to stay persistent.

“Wow, I’d like to thank my beautiful family, all of the artists that were collaborators… thank you! This wouldn’t have been this album without you. I’d like to thank God again and my fans, and I still am in shock. So thank you so much for this honour.”

Released in March 2024, Cowboy Carter was a landmark project that spotlighted Black artists in country music.

Beyoncé has previously shared her experience of not feeling “welcomed” when first exploring the genre, making this Grammy win even more significant.

At the 2025 Grammys, Beyoncé received 11 nominations, including Album of the Year and Best Country Album for Cowboy Carter.

Her song Texas Hold ‘Em earned nominations for Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Country Song, while 16 Carriages and Ya Ya secured nods for Best Country Solo Performance and Best Americana Performance, respectively.
