The Kaduna State Police Command has welcomed its 44th Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Abdullahi, who takes over from CP Gyogon Grimah, who spent barely two weeks in the command.

The Punch reports that Grimah, a seasoned police officer from Nasarawa State, took over from Audu Dabigi, who retired from the force on October 1, 2024.

In a statement, the Public Relations Officer of the Command, ASP Mansir Hassan, described CP Abdullahi’s appointment as a significant boost to security in the state.

“CP Ibrahim Abdullahi’s wealth of experience and leadership will undoubtedly enhance the command’s efforts to maintain law and order,” Hassan said.

He added that CP Abdullahi, a native of Zuru Local Government area in Kebbi State, who began his police career in 1992 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (C/ASP), was trained at the Police Academy Annex in Kaduna and has since held various key positions.

“I’m committed to upholding the values of the Nigeria Police Force and ensuring security, peace, and order in Kaduna State.
“My experience and dedication will be utilised to improve policing and community relationships,” Abdullahi said.
The spokesman revealed that  Abdullahi’s notable roles include serving as Personal Assistant to the Commissioner of Police in Niger State, Officer in Charge of General Investigation, and Divisional Crime Officer in Tudun Wada Division.

Hassan added that as Area Commander in Kafanchan, Zaria, and Metro Lafia, CP Abdullahi demonstrated exceptional leadership skills.

“His experience extends to police training at the Police Colleges in Oji-River and Kaduna.

“After promotion to Deputy Commissioner of Police in 2019, CP Abdullahi held leadership positions in Kaduna, Zone 6 Calabar, Sokoto State Command, and Force CID, Abuja,” he said.
He assured the public of his commitment to community policing and collaboration with stakeholders.
