The strategic move spearheaded be the State Commissioner for Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr.Cletus Shurkuk is to ensure the active participation of relevant agencies in the forthcoming Plateau State Festival of Science, Technology and Innovation.
In furtherance of this, the Honourable Commissioner for Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr. Cletus Bako Shurkuk, held a strategic engagement with the Director-General of the Nigeria Natural Medicine Development Agency (NNMDA), Abuja, Prof. Martins Emeje.
The high-level meeting provided a platform for extensive and productive deliberations on strengthening institutional partnerships between the Ministry and the Agency, particularly in advancing natural medicine research and development in Plateau State.
Discussions focused on opportunities for joint capacity building, proper regulation, and the profiling of natural medicine practitioners to ensure quality, safety, and innovation in the sector.
Speaking during the engagement, Prof. Martins Emeje expressed his readiness and firm commitment to support the Plateau State Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, especially in ensuring the successful participation of NNMDA in the upcoming Plateau State Festival of Science, Technology and Innovation.
He further reaffirmed the Agency’s willingness to work closely with the Plateau State Government to promote and enhance natural medicine activities in line with national standards and global best practices.
Plateau State Commissioner of of Science Technology and Innovation, Dr. Shurkuk, emphasized the Plateau State Government’s resolve under the “The Time Is Now” administration to leverage science, technology, and innovation as drivers of sustainable development.
He noted that strategic partnerships with federal agencies such as NNMDA are critical to unlocking the state’s rich natural resources and positioning Plateau State as a hub for innovation in natural medicine.
The engagement marks another significant step towards fostering synergy between Plateau State and key national institutions in advancing science-driven solutions for economic growth and improved healthcare delivery.
