Ogun teenager arraigned for TV, generator theft

Nineteen-year-old Ibrahim Yaya was, on Tuesday, arraigned before an Ota Magistrates Court in Ogun State for theft of valuables worth N4 million.

Police charged Yaya with burglary and theft after he was handed over to them by the vigilance group that apprehended him.

Yaya was reportedly apprehended on December 17, 2022, at about 0700hours at No 40, Adeniran Street, Sango-Ota, Ogun.

The defendant invaded the one Mr. Bolarinde Jonathan house and stole one flat-screen TV, generator parts, and other valuables worth N4 million.

The prosecutor said the offences violated Sections 411(1)(2) and 412 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Yaya was granted a bail of N100,000.
