The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Education Pankshin, Prof. Noel Wannang, has congratulated Prof. Anthonia Chukwu and Prof. Judith Dawulung on their well-deserved election by the University Senate as Deputy Vice Chancellors (Academics and Administration respectively).
Prof. Wannang conveyed his congratulatory message following his maiden Senate meeting held at the University Library Board Room.
He noted that their election by Senate members is a testament to their dedication, competence, and commitment to academic excellence and quality leadership.
The Vice Chancellor prayed that God would grant them wisdom, strength, and success as they assume these important responsibilities in moving the University to greater heights.
Prior to her election, Prof. Anthonia Chukwu — a Professor of Science Education, prolific researcher, and author of numerous publications in science education, teacher training, and educational policy — served as Director of Research and Development at the University. She has also held various academic leadership positions, including Head of the Chemistry Department and Departmental Facilitator for Bachelor of Education programmes.
Prof. Chukwu is a member of the University Senate and several professional bodies, including the Science Teachers Association of Nigeria (STAN) and the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN). Her expertise spans curriculum development, teacher education, research supervision, and academic administration.
Prof. Judith Dawulung, the immediate past Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor and now DVC (Administration), is a Governing Council member of the institution and a Professor of French from the University of Yaoundé, Cameroon. She has previously served as Director of Remedial and General Studies.
She is a member of multiple professional bodies and has attended numerous conferences and training sessions, with a long list of presented papers, articles, and published books. She has also contributed significantly to community service and partnered with various organizations on developmental projects.
In a statement signed by the Deputy Director, Information and Public Relations of the University, Charles Homsuk, MNIPR, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Noel Wannang, called on all staff, students, stakeholders, and the University community to extend their full cooperation and support to the new DVCs.
He noted that their emergence—subject to ratification by the Governing Council—would strengthen leadership at the University, ensuring timely decision-making, coordinated policies, and improved welfare for both staff and students.
