An American singer and songwriter, Mariah Carey, has reportedly raked over $6 millions annually from holiday songs through streaming which has increasingly dominated music market.
She has been cashing in on Christmas for decades which made her current net worth skyrocketed to the tune of over $350 million.
Her song, ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’ generated about $6.16 million in master recording and publishing revenue in 2021 based on 94,000 downloads and 823 million streams.
Carey could make about $1.55 million in 2021 from the master recording revenue, according to Billboard, and as one of the song’s two writers, her share of the publishing revenue would be about $830,000 if she and her co-writer each wrote 50% of the song, though the percent each writer wrote may vary.
Carey’s label, Sony Music, earns a big payday too, Billboard estimated Sony earned about $2.95 million from the song’s 2021 performance. READ MORE
