The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Education, Pankshin (FUEP), Professor Noel Wannang, has called for stronger collaboration with traditional and local government authorities to enhance infrastructure and improve the quality of education in the institution.
Professor Wannang made the call during a courtesy visit to the Ngolong Ngas, Nde Jika Golit, where he sought royal blessings and support for the successful administration of the University.
He reaffirmed his commitment to repositioning the institution as a leading centre of academic excellence, noting that as the pioneer substantive Vice-Chancellor and an indigene, he is determined to leave a lasting legacy.
The Vice-Chancellor commended the monarch’s role in the institution’s upgrade to a Federal University and appealed to the Ngas Nation and other stakeholders for sustained support.
Responding, the Ngolong Ngas assured the University of the traditional council’s full backing, pledging continued cooperation and protection of the institution.
In a related development, Professor Wannang also visited the Chairman of Pankshin Local Government Council, Hon. Felix Gonung, to seek collaboration on key projects, including the completion of the University’s perimeter fence to improve security.
He further requested support for road expansion and drainage construction along the Pankshin–Jos Road to enhance access and beautify the University’s main gate.
Hon. Gonung, in his response, pledged the Council’s readiness to partner with the University to strengthen security, improve infrastructure, and create a conducive learning environment.
