Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, Honorable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, participated as a speaker in a high-level spotlight session on “Leveraging Social Registries for Adaptive Social Protection in Nigeria: Progress, Challenges, and Future Directions.”

Hosted by the World Bank’s Social Protection team, the event brought together global leaders, technical experts, and development partners to explore how social registries can be better used to protect the most vulnerable in times of crisis.

Prof. Yilwatda emphasized Nigeria’s strides in strengthening its social registry systems, while calling for greater collaboration, innovation, and political will to ensure that no one is left behind—especially as the world faces mounting humanitarian and economic challenges.
