Nigeria has officially launched its 3rd National Action Plan on the implementation of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325.

L-R Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Imaan Suleiman Ibrahim and former Minister of Women Affairs and Social, Dame Pauline Tallen.
This launched marked a significant step in the Nation’s quest towards providing a comprehensive framework for addressing the disproportionate impact of conflict on women and putting women at the centre of effort to addressing complex and emerging peace and security issues in the country.

The official unveiling which took place at the Banquet Hall, State House, Abuja, Nigeria, clearly demonstrated the Federal Government and other critical stakeholders commitment to improve the eight- point agenda of President Tinubu’s Administration.

Accordingly, the 3rd National Action Plan vision is to achieve sustainable and integrated security that promotes ownership and accountability through inclusive governance and innovative financing systems. Its goal therefore, is to create a peaceful and secure Nigeria where women are protected from violence and are engaging in sustainable peace and security.
