The Ikeja Unique Lions Club has donated new computers and a multimedia ICT centre to Ogudu Junior Grammar School, Ogudu, in the Ojota area of Lagos.

Receiving the donation, the Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Education District II, Mrs Anike Adekanye, stated that the project was donated by the club to complement the efforts of the Lagos State Government’s T.H.E.M.E.S+ agenda.

According to a press statement on Monday, Adekanye, who expressed her satisfaction and gratitude towards Ikeja Unique Lions Club’s intervention, noted that the donation was a testament to the importance of public-private partnership.

The statement quoted the Tutor-General as saying, “ICT centres in schools are like modern-day laboratories, fostering innovations, critical thinking and problem-solving.

“They equip students with digital literacy, enabling them to adapt to an ever-changing technological landscape.”

She commended the President of the club, Wilkey Francis, and other members of the club for their great contributions to the development of education for the betterment of the students, according to the statement.

Speaking at the donation, the Lions Club International District 404B2 Governor, Lekan Owolabi, described the project as an uncommon world-class project, adding that the Lions Club International is an association of volunteers offering service to make life better for humanity.

The statement quoted the Principal of the school, Mrs Foluke Omisakin, as expressing her joy and gratitude to Lions Club for the donation, assuring them of adequate maintenance of the project.
