There is the urgent need to build the capacity of the media to better understand and report digital rights violations, data protection mechanisms, data privacy concerns, as well as digital surveillance, needs further strengthening.
Consequently, Civil Society organizations can lead reforms through accountability, Advocacy and Access.
And so for 2 days, Civil Society and Media Organizations from North-Central Nigeria, converged in Abuja, at a Digital Clinic, to examine critic issues in digital space.
Organized under the auspices of the Civic Space Resource (CSR) Hub, the Digital Security Clinic aims to address the evolving digital threats faced by media and civil society organizations (CSOs).
The engagement equipped participants with essential knowledge and skills to mitigate these risks effectively.
These include: Threat assessment, Secure communication tools, Online privacy, Data protection, Strategies for safeguarding digital assets.
Through interactive sessions and hands-on exercises, participants had the opportunity to enhance their understanding of digital threats and develop effective strategies to protect themselves and Organizations.
Media for Social Change and Development MSCD, participated in this knowledge enhancing session that was quite rewarding.
