It has been claimed that civil society organizations adopt the different technological options available to them in order to fulfill their social mission and stay relevant.
During an interactive session with Heads of Networks at the Civil Society Forum hosted by the CSO Forum in Plateau State, Helen Haggai, the Coordinator to the Governor of Plateau State on Nongovernmental Organizations, threw the challenge.
The Coordinator on NGO, who acknowledged this is her first engagement with the highest level of civil society organizations in Plateau State, encouraged the forum not to be distracted or discouraged but to focus on delivering on its mandates and objectives.
Mrs. Haggai noted that the existence of a coalition of networks is not the same as the forum for all networks in the state and advised the forum of networks to get equal recognition by registering with the Corporate Affairs Commission CAC.
She wholeheartedly supports the idea of CSO mapping to be embarked upon by the forum, assuring that her office will assist where necessary to ensure the success of the exercise.
This exercise, she noted, will assist the government in detecting and knowing the various interventions of civil society organizations in Plateau State.
Reverend Chris Demcher, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of the CSO Forum in Plateau State, praised the Pateau State Governor for selecting Helen Haggai as Cordinator on NGO with extensive experience in the Civil Society Space.
The Chairman uses the platform to make specific requests to the Special Adviser on NGO for the allocation of a CSO office and to be present for the formal kickoff of the Plteau State CSO Mapping process.
