In 2020, the Plateau State Community and Social Development Agency got an award as the “Most Distinguished Government Agency” in Plateau State.
One year later, in June 2021, Plateau State, through the agency, was awarded first place as the “Best State Government for the Replication of Community-Driven Development (CDD) using government resources” at the close-out ceremony marking the end of the Community and Social Development Project (CSDP).
These awards and recognitions reflect the agency’s commitment and dedication to implementation of programs. within the mandate of the agency.
The agency’s intervention to benefitting communities, whether government-funded or supported by international partners, is driven by community demand through the Expression of Interest.
On assuming office, Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has demonstrated personal and political will to provide resources that ensure the agency executes its mandate effectively and efficiently, despite competing demands.
In line with this, Plateau State Community and Social Development Agency PLCSDA, continued to respond to community demands within available resources. The latest are four communities drawn from two local government areas of Plateau State.
They are Bidol and Konbum in the Mangu Local Government Area, as well as Kagu and Kopolok in the Pankshin Local Government Area.
Before project execution, which are mainly micro projects, representatives of the communities, known as the Community Project Management Committees, are trained in various areas of project management, including report writing, maintenance and sustainability plans for micro projects, participatory monitoring, community contracting, and procurement, among others.
One of the communities, Bidol, was selected after the training for the project Launch through the presentation of the first tranche of cheque for the execution of one of the microprojects contained in the Community Development Plan initiated by the community themselves during the Participatory Rural Appraisal.
In one of the sessions, particularly during the training, the General Manager of the Plateau State Community and Social Development Agency, Dauda Dinju, who actively participated in the development of the Community’s work plan, challenged them to be diligent and prudent in the management of resources at their disposal as well as ensure that quality is not compromised in project execution.
The presentation of cheque was presided over by the Manager Basic Services, James Damulak, under whose purview the community interventions are being implemented.

This is Community Driven Development CDD in motion.
