Nigerians must develop a strong reading culture in order to push back the boundaries of ignorance and promote educational development at all levels.
Consequently, there is the urgent need for Nigerians to cultivate the habit of reading to enhance knowledge and national development.
Director-General of the Digital Bridge Institute Nigeria, Prince David Daser, made these clarion call during the public presentation and launch of two books authored by Dr. Peter Panden, Head of Department, Political Science, Federal University of Education Pankshin.
Prince Daser, who presented a detailed analysis of the books, noted that the publications would add value to knowledge and educational growth, while commending the author for his contribution to academic development.
Contributing, Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Education Pankshin, Professor Noel Nenman Wannang, represented by the University Librarian, Dr. Samson Ainoko, described books as essential instruments for educational development and commended the author for the initiative.
Chief Launcher of the books, Engineer Meshak Maichibi Congo, represented by former Executive Director Advancement Office, University of Jos, Nde Yakubu Gomos, praised the author for documenting aspects of the University’s transformation and the life and achievements of the immediate past Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Jere Ndazhaga.
Author of the books, Dr. Peter Panden, said the publications were motivated by his desire to improve record keeping and documentation within the University
A major highlight of the event was the presentation of an Award of Legislative Distinction and Educational Transformation to the Member representing Pankshin, Kanke and Kanam Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Honourable Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, for his role in facilitating the establishment of the Federal University of Education Pankshin.
An award, courtesy of the Cardinal Onaiyekan Foundation for Peace and the Africa Network of Peacebuilders, was also presented to Reverend Father Andrew Dewan.

Also during the event, the Information and Public Relations Unit of the Federal University of Education Pankshin, unveiled the second edition of the University News magazine, chronicling the achievements of the immediate past Acting Vice Chancellor.
