According to the data gotten from Reuters, the Israeli military announced on Thursday that it intercepted a drone believed to be transporting weapons from Egypt into Israel on Wednesday.
This comes amid an ongoing conflict with Gaza, where Israeli authorities have accused Hamas of utilizing tunnels beneath the border to bring arms through Egypt’s Sinai region.
However, it would interest us to know that two Egyptian security officials disputed Israel’s account, saying that Egyptian border patrols found no evidence of weapon smuggling into Gaza or Israel on that day.
On the other hand, Egypt has previously stated that it dismantled tunnel networks leading into Gaza years ago and has since fortified its border to prevent smuggling activity.
Earlier this month, Israel claimed to have disrupted another attempt to smuggle weapons via drone, reportedly carrying firearms and ammunition from Egypt into its territory.
Sadly, the war going on in the Middle East between Israel and terror agencies such as Hamas and Hezbollah are far from over.
