Here is a roundup of the top Man United news that we think you guys may have missed –
Man United are expected to be in the conversation for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, and he could be a very good signing for the club according to reporter Iomie Stanley
Rasmus Hojlund, 21, has scored 13 goals in 34 games in all competitions but has not been the impressive striker that Manchester United have needed him to be this seasob under Ten Hag.
And it is clear the former Ajax boss wants more firepower in attack going forward as the club seen to be heading in the wrong direction, with a number of big names linked with a move to Old Trafford.
United are searching for a potential successor and speaking icfootballnews – Sesko could be a very good option for Man United boss Erike Ten Hag – He said: “There’s a feeling within Manchester United that Rasmus will better his tally next season.
‘Manchester United spent all that money on signing Hoijlund when they could have signed Harry Kane for pretty much the same price – and he is banging in 30 goals this season at Bayern Munich.
Ten Hag may not even be the manager in the summer window as there is alot of speculation over his future – so even if the club sign a new striker – he may not be the one that takes the club forward.
Sesko is a very good young striker that could have a bright future in the game – he has all the tools to come to the Premier League and be a massive it on those Man United fans.
‘The Red Devils are far too big to not be challenging for that Premier League title or even the Champions League – the signing of Sesko would make Hoijlund step up his game and he would be a very good option for the club, i believe.’
MAN UNITED PUSHING FOR MAINOO DEAL –
Manchester United are pushing to extend Kobbie Mainoo’s contract by this summer after initial discussions in February, and he fully deserves a massive contract at Old Trafford according to reporter Iomie Stanley
Mainoo, whose current Manchester United contract runs until 2027, has impressed with a string of eye-catching displays that saw him earn a first England cap last month.
He is a player that is now being tipped to become an absolute superstar of the game and there has even been some reports that Spanish giants Real Madrid are eyeing up a potential deal in the summer.
However – The transfer reporter says INEOS, who are now in control of football operations after Sir Jim Ratcliffe became minority owner in February, want 18-year-old Mainoo to be one of the faces of the new project.
It is claimed a new deal for the midfielder would see a salary increase and several add-ons, and pretty much end all the speculation about his immediate future at the club.
Stanley told icfootballnews: ‘There has been so many rumours in the media regarding the club – alot of players have been tipped to follow Erik Ten Hag out of the door at Old Trafford at the end of the season.
‘However – the news that Mainoo is a player that Manchester United are desperate to keep hold of is massive – he really has been impressive this season in that Red Devils shirt and fully deserves a big pay rise.
‘If he is able to keep his feet on the ground – get the right manager to help him develop – then he could be a big-time player for Man United in the future.
‘The future looks bright for Mainoo – and he fully deserves a new contract that is for sure.’
BIG HARRY KANE TRANSFER CLAIM MADE –
Bayern Munich do not intend to sell Harry Kane, says Dietmar Hamann, but an offer of €120m-plus may be enough to alter that stance the likes of Manchester United have been told.
After spending much of his career at Tottenham – Harry Kane made the big decision last summer to leave the Premier League and make the move to the Bundesliga giants in hope that he could win some silverware.
However – despite the fact he has broken the 30-goal barrier this season – Bayern will not be picking up any trophies this season unless they win the Champions League, which is very unlikely.
Ex-Bayern star Hamann, speaking in association with Freebets.com, has told GOAL:“He has got a contract. He is a very loyal guy, from what I hear. Is he happy here? I don’t know. Obviously he came here to win trophies, he’s got a chance to win the big one [the Champions League], but there is no guarantee that he does that.
‘I’d say it’s unlikely. I don’t think the club has got any interest to sell him. Whether he has interest to go back, I’m not sure. I wouldn’t think so, but strange things happen in football. The family is over now. Is he settled? I can’t answer that question. The question is, is he happy? Is he happy with how things are going? They haven’t got a manager for next season, they still don’t know who that will be.
‘Does a new manager want somebody else up top, which is a possibility? I’d say at the moment there is no hint of him going, but then again things can change. The bottom line is whether he’s happy. I think he’d be a lot happier if they were to win the Champions League!”
“Next year, if Leverkusen stays together, I think they will probably go into the season as favourites. Bayern Munich, you don’t know who is going to leave and they haven’t even got a manager yet.
‘I think Leverkusen will probably be favourites – for the first time in about 50 years that Bayern Munich isn’t favourite. There are no guarantees that he is going to win the league next year. He’s got to make a decision. I don’t think the club has got any interest whatsoever in selling him. If he were to go, it would take a lot of money. I don’t know who has interest – Manchester United have been mentioned, Chelsea could do with a forward as well.
‘There is also the clause talk that he could go back to Spurs. This is something that could gather pace over the next weeks. There is no hint at the moment but there a lot of issues because Bayern don’t have a manager, you don’t know what will happen in the semis against Real, so you’ve got to keep an eye on it.
‘He’s got to do what’s right. He’s got a contract at Munich so they might say ‘we’re not going to sell, you can stay here’. Or Munich say ‘if somebody gives us the transfer fee plus 20, 30 or 40 million then we might think about it’, then it’s a different story.
‘For him to go to Munich and come back after one season, I think he is too big and done too much for the game in his career to be bothered about that.”
