The German champions could move for the Scottish midfielder, 26, if they miss out on Fulham ace Joao Palhinha, who saw a switch to the Allianz Arena dramatically collapse on deadline day.
Scott McTominay has emerged as a potential January transfer target for Bayern Munich.
The signings of Mason Mount and Sofyan Amrabat over the summer will also likely see the Scotland star’s game time further restricted this season.
McTominay made his first start of the campaign last Saturday as United were comfortably beaten 3-1 by Brighton at Old Trafford.
The No.39 joined the Red Devils’ academy in 2002 and went on to make his senior debut for the club as a substitute against Arsenal in May 2017.
He has since played 212 first-team games, scoring 19 goals and being voted into the 2020-21 Europa League Squad of the Season.
But it is perhaps his recent form on the international stage that has really caught Tuchel’s eye.
McTominay has scored six goals in Scotland’s five Euro 2024 qualifiers, including braces against Spain and Cyprus.
