The Youth Assembly of Nigeria (YAN), Plateau State Chapter, has elected a new leadership to steer the affairs of the Assembly for its 5th Assembly.
Rt. Hon. Moses Walkot Dashe emerged as the 5th Speaker following the election held at the Bishop’s Court, Jenta Adamu, Jos, with representatives from Local Government Areas and wards across Plateau State participating.
Other principal officers elected include Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Musa Simputda as Deputy Speaker, Hon. Emmanuel Malgup Wuyep as Majority Leader, Hon. Ponbol Wilfred Dashe as Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. Blessing Nerat Henry as Minority Leader, Hon. Wokgam Peter Seri as Chief Whip, and Hon. Abubakar Hassan as Deputy Whip.
The election was conducted peacefully and orderly, with contenders for the Speakership withdrawing their aspirations in the interest of unity and the collective progress of the Assembly.
The newly constituted leadership is expected to strengthen youth participation, leadership development, responsible representation and constructive advocacy on issues affecting young people across Plateau State.
